The magic surrounding the way the piles work lies in their construction. Made from metal, the pile is a long, hollow shaft that supports the construction project once it is deep underground. To get the post where the workers need it, a large screw flange, or foundation screw, is attached to one end. As the pile is twisted, it will dig into the earth and bury itself deeper with each turn.


Tall buildings require deep foundational support, but did you know that even one-story buildings or large homes that are sinking can benefit from helical piles? The piles, sometimes called piers or anchors, are pushed deep into the earth. That allows the enormous weight of any building or heavy construction to be evenly dispersed.
